Am lipsit putin de pe virtual si din cauza excursiei la Brasov.
Oameni deschisi la minte de pe acolo au organizat in aceasta toamna o serie de concerte rock cu nume mai mult sau mai putin cunoscute publicului larg de la noi. Am avut sansa sa fiu prezent sambata la "martial postfolk evening" cu trupele Rome din Luxemburg si Spiritual Front din Italia. Recunosc ca stiam putine despre muzica lor si asta a influentat foarte mult impresia generala asupra concertului.
Bucuresteni.ro zice asa :

"ROME (LUX): Jerome Reuter este un geniu ce a reusit in doar 3 ani sa realizeze un MCD si 3 albume, care mai de care mai rapitor! 30 noiembrie. Urata zi. Concert Alexandrina in Bucuresti si The Puppini Sisters in Timisoara. Primul la sarbatorirea a doi ani de existenta Byron, al doilea la Festivalul de Jazz. Nici unul pentru mine dintr-un singur motiv care ma tine in Iasi fara drept de apel...Cateodata nu sunt convins ca merita sa ratez atatea...

Iata cine sunt surorile Puppini: o italianca si doua englezoaice cu 2 albume de cabaret harmony/swing/jazz (acest stil care in Anglia zilelor noastre este egal cu succesul spontan) la activ; canta in majoritate preluari dupa slagare ale anilor '40 si au o minutios lucrata prestatie live ce buchiseste totul de la decoruri si costume la scenografie, coregrafie si interpretare vocala. Lucruri pe care le consider de maxim efect si valoare artistica.

Nu stati acasa in seara de 30, pentru ca nu stiti ce pierdeti. Asadar, Alexandrina in Bucuresti si The Puppini Sisters in Timisoara. Enjoy!

Apropos de anotimpul muzical actual, va reamintesc ca au trecut prin tarisoara asta in ultimele 2-3 luni : Leonard Cohen, Thievery Corporation, Roisin Murphy, Underworld, Nouvelle Vague, Koop, Mum sau De Phazz.
Semne de bine in viata culturala a romanului obosit si snob:) Sper ca anul viitor sa creasca relevanta acestor concerte asupra urechilor noastre, caci, cantitativ stam din in ce in ce mai bine intre tarile pentru care Bestfestul romanesc e doar o adunare de cartier.

S-a intamplat ca bjorkeritza mea de suflet sa-mi recomande filmul "Once", citez : "pentru atmosfera"..

L-am vazut de trei ori intr-o zi. Este un film cu foarte multa muzica, fara a fi un musical. Cald, patrunzator, inteligent. Un soundtrack ce a castigat Oscar, compus si interpretat de chiar protagonistii filmului. Cantece in aceeasi nuanta de rosu tomnatic, de urcat in iPod-uri pentru plimbari nostalgice.

Hercules and love Affair este un proiect dance new-yorkez pus pe picioare de DJ Andy Butler, alaturi de Nomi, Kim Ann Foxman si....Antony Hegarty. Ei bine, ideea nu putea fi decat o reusita conceptual-comerciala; atat de reusita incat piesa care urmeaza se difuzeaza "un pic" si la noi. Se pare ca radioul romanesc (de prima audienta) a avut o scapare fericita in a aduce la urechile poporului ceva cu adevarat catchy si valoros deopotriva. Sper sa nu fie doar o scapare..

O trupa cu vreo 26 de mii de views pe myspace poate trece drept necunoscuta...pentru mine cu siguranta era pana ieri.
Facand-mi obisnuitul tur de net in cautare de eventuri muzicale autohtone, aflu de Bridge Festival, show putin mediatizat se pare, poate tocmai din cauza lipsei de nume cu rezonanta ale muzicii mondiale. Festivalul are loc la Giurgiu-Ruse chiar in aceste zile si face parte dintr-un proiect numit European Sound Delta, concept "pan-european axat pe sound-art, live performances, field recording". Pe afis : Prins Thomas, Mira Calix, Phill Niblock, Chica and The Folder, Minus si Ion, Sillyconductor, Tom Wilson, Alien Pimp, SKVJS, Vali Chincisan, Henning Lundkvist, Pistamashina, Cosmiq Microbiq, Camil, Julien Ottavi, TO, Katherine Liberovskaya, WPMG

Ok, ideea e ca am cautat primul nume care a sarit in ochi, si anume Chica respectiva (dimpreuna cu Folderul adiacent). Descopar cu entuziasm o muzica electronica inteligenta in "aberatiile" ei, aducand optimismul Soutpaw (gasiti un clip al lor acu cateva posturi) in combinatie cu gravitatea lui Amon Tobin, spre reusita unui concept pe care o sa-l numesc dark-pop.

Chica and the Folder mi-au placut mult si ma bucur sa stiu ca festurile romanesti sunt mai numeroase si mai diverse decat imi inchipuiam.

O piesa pe care am ascultat-o prima data prin 2002 (desi e mai veche de atat). Primisem un cd mostra de trip-hop mai putin "circulat" sa-i zic..
"At the river", piesa de rezistenta a celor de la Groove Armada (in afara de celebra "I see you baby") este unul din cantecele care la vremea aceea m-au facut sa "cad" in meandrele muzicii electronice adevarate..Asemenea acestei piese, imi amintesc de placerea cu care ascultasem "Vinger and salt" de la Hooverphonic si "Daydream in Blue" - I monster.

Deocamdata impartasesc/reamintesc "At the river", intr-o minunata interpretare live, in cadrul "Isle Of Wight Festival 2007"

Domnii de la The Cat Empire canta un amestec de funk jazz ska etc. Ce urmeaza este o piesa diferita de celelalte; pe care vreti sa o ascultati, pentru ca, iata, apare nominalizata pe bellamuzica:)), lucru ce nu s-a mai intamplat de mult. Este unul din acele cantece pe care le gasesti cu "evrika" si cu care te infuzezi pentru tot restul vietii.

Rock'n'Iasi Open Air Festival

Maine si duminica (24-25 mai) Iasul va tremura rock din toate incheieturile..Se intampla episodul 2 al Rock'n'Iasi, vom avea 30 de trupe din foarte multe substiluri : alternative, punk, hardcore, progressive, death, doom, black si tot ce va mai trece prin cap. Headlineri sunt cei de la trupa finlandeza Korpiklaani care vor da mult prea bine cu berea romaneasca..Vor mai canta nume ca GOD, Negura Bunget, Nevid, Kratos, Corbus Albus, Staccato, Godmode, Bucium si multe altele.

Asadar, in speranta ca vremea va fi buna si berea din belsug, ma pregatesc pentru doua zile de drujbaiala..

Caci se cade sa iubesti toata muzica daca esti meloman;)

Si cum a fost..

25 000 de oameni intre care, fara nici un snobism, te simti foarte important, pentru ca tu esti acolo sa simti, nu sa joci...Goran ne-a dat pana si "In the deathcar", pe langa sublimele "Ederlezi", "Mesecina", "Ausencia", "Praway do lewgo" sau "Kalashnikov". O seara extraordinara, atat de rara la Iasi, marcand sper, inceputul unei frumoase traditii de a arunca cu banii publici in artisti precum Goran Bregovic, si nu in atatea alte inutilitati..
